DJ Tron, Optimixx Prime and Miyuru Fernando are now holding down a hot Friday night residency at Fluid, hosted by The Internationals. And as anyone who was out last Friday will tell you, this collaboration is set to make your Friday nights crazy and bangin’ every week! March 19 will be especially excellent as we’ll have Funkerman, an international superstar laying down some of the hottest house music coming out of the Netherlands, and all you need to pay is $10 cover!

So I don’t know about you, but I’m really excited to have Data back in Edmonton. This guy is not only one of the world’s best producers, but a fantastic DJ as well. In fact I got so excited I just had to remix one of his tracks from his debut LP Skywriter (released last year). I picked So Much In Love because the vocal hook, although I can’t decifer it, is so catchy it’s pretty much an addictive substance, like crack or energy drinks. Plus it has the word ‘Love’ in the title. Straight up.

Its been tough keeping this one under wraps for so long but we’re absolutely stoked to finally announce it!  On Friday, April 9th we’ll be bringing DatA all the way from Paris to pay Edmonton a visit, and in the process, absolutely destroy the Pawn Shop!

For those unfamiliar, expect a night of full-on electro with a very French feel.  DatA’s own productions range from French party anthems to more melodic dance tracks such as “One In A Million”.  On top of all that, he’s produced official remixes for the likes of Chromeo, Felix Da Housecat, M83, his labelmate Danger and many, many more.  His AMAZING remix of La Roux’s “I’m Not Your Toy” basically serves to define his sound:

As always, our underpriced earlybird tickets will go on sale today for only $10 at Blackbyrd Myoozik and Foosh on Whyte Ave! Expect these to sell out extremely fast, so hot foot it to either outlet to get your hands on a pair!

Swan Song (Original Mix) by DJ TRON

I thought I’d post this track, which I produced recently, because it’s a bit of a departure from what I usually produce (and listen to). It’s a short track, quick and to the point I guess you could say. I titled it Swan Song. If you google that, or if you’re familiar with old-ass mythology, maybe you’ll be able to figure out why ;)

I’ve been checking out to lots of artists lately that fall outside the genre of ‘bangin-ass electro house’, which is my bread and butter. I found inspiration for this song from listening to acts like Royksopp and The Knife (both personal favorites at the moment). Not that Swan Song sounds like either of those acts in particular, but that’s where I got the creative energy from this time.

Stay tuned to the Easy Love blog… very soon I’ll be releasing a brand new remix! It might have something to do with a huge show we’re going to be announcing very soon… like I said, keep your eyes and ears open, Easy Love’s cookin up some marvelous shit…

No gimmicks, no advance tickets, no worries - these parties are dedicated to everyone who’s ever supported us, be it from a year ago or yesterday, we got your back!

Next Wednesday, February 17th we will be throwing a special Fan Appreciation Party at Twist Ultra Lounge. $4 Hi-balls and best of all NO COVER! On top of that, lights, fog, lasers and all that jazz will be provided by our friends at Pearl Entertainment, and our good friend Dima Disco will be joining us in the booth for what’s sure to be the craziest reading week party yet!

As well, we’ll also be playing two more shows in February, first at Fluid Lounge with our friends The Internationals THIS FRIDAY and later on, at The Savoy on Whyte on Saturday, February 20th. All events are listed on the sidebar to the right and also on our Facebook group page.
