Best of SXSW 2010 - Treasure Fingers

The title should really read most underrated of SXSW 2010!  My favorite DJ from last year’s festival and near-favorite this year is Fool’s Gold’s Treasure Fingers.  Despite a lack of original productions in the last year, a combination of solid DJ skills plus superb (!!) track selection kept the crowd at Austin’s Beauty Bar grooving non-stop until his set was over.

There’s nothing more refreshing than groovin’ to the finest nu-disco cuts after getting deep with some heavy electro at the stage next door.  If you’re not familiar with Treasure Fingers (this post is for all the kids who are just getting into the scene), definitely check out the breakthrough track Cross The Dancefloor which dominated 2008, complete with huge remixes from Lifelike, Curses, and Laidback Luke (which I still play out today) plus a slew of unofficial remixes, including this one by Designer Drugs:

Now for the insider info - look out for a new EP from the man himself, slated for release this May on Fool’s Gold!

P.S. A little bonus because we love you guys:

Designer Drugs: Datamix 07

Just in time for the holidays, our homies from NYC just dropped their latest mix entitled Datamix 07.  Download it here and see them on the 15th!

Easy Love wants you to know…

Easy Love featured two of Edmonton’s best DJs at Fame (which was Dec. 18 @ Pawn Shop), and the response was tremendous. DUSTY GROOVES and SHY D threw down incredible sets and kept the dance floor jumpin’ all night.

Easy Love is very proud to bring you the best local talent, and will continue to throw parties that focus on the gold mine of killer DJs that Edmonton is so fortunate to have. And we will continue to show our appreciation to our fans and party-goers by making these event really affordable.

And of course Easy Love will still be bringing the hottest acts from around the globe to Edmonton. We’re very excited for both DESIGNER DRUGS and FUKKK OFFF, who’ll be at Pawn Shop on January 15th and February 5th respectively. These shows are expected to sell out so make sure you get your tickets early!

And finally, THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO CAME OUT TO FAME! And those who couldn’t make it, we’ll see you at the next one, or two, or 5 or 10 :)

Check the blog for updates on the release of an Easy Love NYE Mix!
