The seminal dance-punk outfit !!! (band website / MySpace) have got a new album on the way (August 24) entitled “Strange Weather, Isn’t It?” and they’ve also got a psychedelic new music video for the single “AM/FM”. Check it out below

Curious about the name !!!?

The band’s name was inspired by the subtitles of the movie The Gods Must Be Crazy, in which the clicking sounds of the Bushmens’ Khoisan language were represented as “!”. However, as the bandmembers themselves say, !!! is pronounced by repeating thrice any monosyllabic sound. Chk Chk Chk is the most common pronunciation, but they could just as easily be called Pow Pow Pow, Bam Bam Bam, Uh Uh Uh, etc.

I’m not sure if they win the award for Best Name Ever or Worst Name Ever, but at least it’s not unoriginal. And their music is hype so who gives?

Formerly known (and well-remembered) as Dietzche V. and the Abominable Snowman, former Edmontonians DVAS have just released their sophomore album “Society” via the itunes store. You can also cop the new single “Society” along with a remix by The Hood Internet (ft. Kid Static) from the Upper Class Recordings website. Also if you missed it on the blog a few days ago, you can watch the new music video for “Society” by scrolling down a few posts.

This Canada Day weekend we decided what better way to celebrate than throwing a party with one of the UK’s finest - FOAMO!  The show was a hit (as always!) and the crowd was definitely crazier than ever.  Here are the pictures from the show courtesy of Michael Ng of NGYOFACE.com, look out for big things from this young photographer!

Our Irish friends Conroy and Darce, otherwise known as Two Charming Men, just sent us this bangin’ new mix featuring their favorite Foamo tracks.  No, we didn’t con them into mixing this for us, it just turns out they’ll be playing a show alongside Foamo a couple weeks after our own show here in Edmonton and crafted this mix in anticipation.  Naturally, they sent it our way!
